Jake Heal's into the mansion
Context :
The game was created during the "Global Game Jam " in October 2022. We were 6 to create the game. A 2D artist, a scenarist, a sound & music designer and 3 developpers. Wishing to improve the game we continue to work it for a week after the GameJame ended.
The GameJam is as her name says worldwide. Her theme is "Duality".
As Jake Heal (incarnated by the player) the famous detective stays in a mansion, the corpse of Draco knight is found. The goal is to discover and reveal the muderer ! For that the player can interrogates suspects, asks for phone clues, or try to open Draco Knight briefcase. But be careful, the police wil arrive soon and the action number are limited.
To emphasize the dualite Jake can play the good cop / bad cop to obtain the information he wants. However, his choices impact the suspects behaviour, accepting more or less this treatment.
Moreover, our game answer three subthemes :
"Acutely Eye-dentifiable" The game has super kawaii(cute) and high-contrast visuals.
"Build Your Own Multi-verse" for our characters we modified existing ones. (Draco Knight => Dragonair, Ed Midas => Edward in Silver Hands and Midas, Al Maad => Alice in Wonderland, Victoria Stain => Frankenstein, Schroddy => Schrodinger's cat)

My tasks :
- Lead programmer =>
I take care of the creation and implementation of most of the classes of the games (except from sceneManager). The main ideas validated, i study the tools and methods available.
- Gameplay programmer =>
The theoretical achitecture finished i start the game development. I get familiar with Ink a powerfull tool in Unity for dialogs. I implement the GameManager, inventory and "save" system, characters management (mood, state, images), phone clues, interrogations (player answers, player state, displayed texts, choices, suspecs's answers and state), the briefcase and its padlock.
- Integration =>
In duo with another developper we integrate images into the game.
Our Sound Designer working on Wwise I discover this tool and integrate all souns and musics he compose. For that i implement a class Soundmanager within Unity.
